An American Osprey military aircraft with six crew members on board crashed into the sea off the coast of Japan on Wednesday, according to the Japanese coastguard. Previously, it was reported that there were eight people on board, but the of crew members has since been changed by the Coast Guard to six. One person was confirmed dead, number the Japanese news agency Kyodo reported. The Osprey spacecraft, produced by the American aircraft manufacturer Boeing, can be described as a hybrid between an aircraft and a helicopter. The vessel crashed into the Pacific Ocean off the island of Yakushima. /ritzau/
