Finally, Israel and Hamas have agreed on a ceasefire that will ensure the survival of part of the Israeli hostages and provide much-needed supplies to the civilian population of Gaza. But the price is high, especially for Israel, and a humanitarian pause in the war solves none of the fundamental problems.
