At least 13 people have lost their lives in a fire at a hostel in Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city, before sunrise on Thursday, according to the city’s emergency authority. During the initial reconnaissance and extinguishing of the fire, 13 bodies were discovered. The authorities are currently trying to identify those who died, according to AFP. According to the city’s emergency authority, there were 72 people residing in the hostel when the fire broke out. 59 of them have been evacuated. /ritzau/
