Much-needed and liberating that the government now wants to change course in public schools: The government wants to change course in a public school where one in seven students leaves the 9th grade without passing Danish and mathematics. Now politicians promise a better public school. Pupils must be able to do arithmetic and read, and there must be greater respect for practical subjects. One can only hope that the politicians themselves have caught the message: The school should not be a laboratory for political whims and trends, but a stable and academic framework that takes care of all children, both academically and practically.
