Great art transcends time and place, and the amazing thing is that it is “hopelessly old-fashioned” films like Frank Capras that seem fresh today, while a modern Christmas movie like Richard Curtis’ “Love Actually” just 20 years after its premiere seems oddly dated and a little embarrassing.
