Landslides in Randers have so far cost DKK 41 million

Between December 19th and January 9th, Randers Municipality in Jutland has spent DKK 41,534,917 excluding VAT on preventing pollution of the Alling Å (Ed: Alling Stream) as a result of a landslide, according to a letter from the council to the Nordic Waste company that TV2 Østjylland has seen. The landslide took place at Nordic Waste. In an information letter to the city council in Randers, Municipal Director Jesper Kaas Schmidt writes that the sum is a preliminary statement because there may be more bills for the period. According to TV2 Østjylland, the letter, which was sent to Nordic Waste, stated that Randers Municipality had paid for the expenses. “This represents a significant liquidity burden for Randers Municipality. Randers Municipality must therefore encourage Nordic Waste A/S to make the payment as soon as possible. /ritzau/
