Løkke: No sign of life from presumed Danish hostage
Denmark continues to press for the release of the Danish-Israeli man presumed to have been held hostage by Hamas in Gaza, according to Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen. “We are pushing wherever we can to keep his name on the agenda. Because he is Danish-Israeli, and from the Israeli side, all the hostages not yet released are high on the list. Lars Løkke goes on to say that there is nothing concrete new to say about the presumed hostage’s situation. But Denmark has “heard nothing else” other than that he is supposed to be in Gaza. “But there have been no signs of life yet,” he said. In both Copenhagen and Jerusalem, the foreign minister has met with relatives of the presumed hostage. According to information from Danish media, he is a man in his late 60s who has lived in Israel for the past ten years. He reportedly resides in a kibbutz in the area close to Gaza. /ritzau/
