The roof of a church in the city of Ciudad Madero in northeastern Mexico collapsed Sunday while about 100 people were in the church, according to local police, AP reported. Authorities believe about 30 people have been trapped in the rubble. On Sunday evening local time, authorities said at least seven people had lost their lives in the accident. “Seven people have been confirmed dead and ten injured people have been rescued,” a local authority spokesperson said in a statement. According to the authorities, there are still people trapped in the ruins. The church collapsed in the early afternoon of Sunday local time. According to local media, the accident happened during a baptism. Children are expected to be among the victims, the BBC reported. /ritzau/
