At least 27 people have died and four people are missing after Hurricane Otis in Mexico, according to the authorities. Otis hit the coastal city of Acapulco and the state of Guerrero with great force on Tuesday night. It is one of the worst storms to ever hit the Mexican Pacific coast. Roofs have been torn off houses and hotels, telecommunications have been severely affected, and in many places roads and runways can no longer be used. On Thursday, soldiers and rescuers worked frantically to clean up the chaos and destruction left behind by Otis. According to DPA, the airport in the tourist city has ceased operations. Media reports that thousands of tourists are stuck. /ritzau/AFP/
