An Israeli strike on Monday reportedly killed a senior Hezbollah leader in southern Lebanon, three unnamed security sources said. Security sources identify him as a man named Wissam al-Tawil. He and another Hezbollah member were killed in a car in the town of Majdal Selm. “This is a very painful attack,” one of the security sources said. “Things will flare up now.” Hezbollah has lost more than 130 members in Israeli air strikes on southern Lebanon since October 7, 2023, the sources said. Another 19 have been killed in Syria. /ritzau/Reuters/
