Most Turks in Denmark voted for Erdogan

Thousands of Turks living abroad are helping to decide who will be Turkey’s next president. And there is a big difference in how much support the different presidential candidates have in different countries. This is according to the Turkish news agency Andolu’s statement of the preliminary results of the presidential elections held on Sunday.
     Among Turks living in Denmark, Recep Tayyip Erdogan was apparently most popular. Thus, 58 percent of Turkish voters in Denmark who voted in the election favoured Erdogan, while almost 40 percent voted for Kemal Kiliçdaroglu, the opposition presidential candidate and Erdogan’s main rival. However, less than half of Danish-Turks participated in the election. 15,125 Turks living in Denmark have voted. This corresponds to 41.29 percent of the Danish-Turks who were able to vote.
     Turks in Sweden  Kiliçdaroglu. About 54 percent of Swedish-Turks voted for Kiliçdaroglu. 44 percent voted for Erdogan. / ritzau/
