Nordic Waste to provide financial security
The Danish Environmental Protection Agency has issued two injunctions to the company Nordic Waste A/S in the case of an environmentally harmful landslide, the Ministry of Environment wrote in a press release Sunday. One order requires Nordic Waste to provide financial security for the expected costs in order to prevent the landslide from causing environmental damage in Alling Å. The second injunction is that the company must take measures to safeguard the environment. No later than Monday at 4 p.m., the company must provide documentation of financial security, the ministry wrote. Nordic Waste has no comment on the two orders it has received.
The two orders came after Nordic Waste filed for bankruptcy on Friday. Subsequently, the government announced that it would pursue all possibilities for “such a large part of the bill” to be placed with the polluter, i.e. Nordic Waste. /ritzau
