North Korea
North Korea has inscribed its nuclear power status in its constitution, North Korean state media reported Thursday. “North Korea’s policy of building nuclear strength has been made permanent as part of its fundamental legislation,” North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said during a meeting of the People’s Assembly. A year ago, the Assembly passed a law declaring North Korea to be a nuclear power. Kim Jong-un said it was “irreversible”. The law provided for so-called preventive use of nuclear weapons to protect North Korea./ritzau/AFP
