Norwegian students’ use of mobile phones during lectures is so disruptive that seven out of ten associate professors demand that national rules be introduced. The latest call on the issue comes following a study conducted by the trade union Norsk Lektorlag, which represents associate professors in Norway, according to NTB. The union’s leader, Helle Christin Nyhuus, says that about 70 percent of the lecturers surveyed call for national rules to be developed. About 75 percent believe that student mobile use interferes with teaching. /ritzau/
