Three people were killed and one was injured in a stabbing early Monday in Nordland in northern Norway, Norwegian news agency NTB reported. “The police received an alarm call at 4.52 a.m. about a stabbing at a private address in Indre Salten. Police immediately moved out and entered the house, where three people were confirmed dead and one person was injured,” the police statement said. The three dead people are a man and a woman in their 40s and a young man aged 18.
The injured person, who was flown to a hospital by rescue helicopter, is a child, police lawyer Kristine Pedersen said. In the house there was also another child who was not injured. The suspected perpetrator is among those killed, a senior police officer in the Nordland police district, Bent Are Eilertsen, said in a press release. Police said there was no reason to believe that other people were involved. /ritzau/NTB/
