Novo Nordisk drops

Novo Nordisk ended at the bottom of the C25 index on Monday following rumours of a remark from the health authorities in the United States. The C25 index ended Monday down 0.9% at 1726.88. Only six companies increased, while 19 companies experienced declines. Novo Nordisk in particular contributed to pulling the index down. The stock fell 2.4 per cent to DKK 650.40. “Novo Nordisk is down a few percent, and it is pulling down because Novo weighs so heavily. The market is also generally a little hesitant in the run-up to the interest rate meeting of the US Federal Reserve on Wednesday,” says Martin Munk, senior equity adviser at Jyske Bank.
The rumours about Novo Nordisk are that the company has been visited by the U.S. health authority, FDA, at its facility in Clayton in the U.S., which allegedly triggered some reaction. According to several sources MarketWire has spoken to, it was the financial house UBS that has drawn attention in a memo to the notification, which was supposed to deal with problematic conditions. Sydbank also refers to the memo. However, at UBS, analyst Michael Leuchten denies that the financial house issued such a memo. Novo Nordisk declined to comment on the rumours that the FDA has sent a letter of remarks. /Marketwire/
