Open AI staff threaten to leave

More than 500 employees of OpenAI, the parent company behind ChatGPT, have signed a letter threatening to leave the tech company if “all current board members don’t resign,” according to AFP, which refers to several American media. CNN, Sky News and the Wall Street Journal have reported on the new development. It appears that the letter was written and sent in response to Sam Altman, who until Friday was OpenAI’s chief executive, being fired.
In all 505 of OpenAI’s approximately 700 employees have signed the letter, saying they will go to Microsoft if the board doesn’t resign and Sam Altman comes back. Microsoft has reportedly promised OpenAI’s disgruntled employees employment contracts if they leave OpenAI. On Monday night, the American media outlet The Verge wrote that, according to several sources there are ongoing talks with Sam Altman about him returning to the post of chief executive of OpenAI. However, according to Sky News, Sam Altman was Monday hired by Microsoft. /ritzau/
