Pakistan’s former prime minister Imran Khan was indicted on Monday in a case involving the leak of classified documents, according to Prosecutor Shah Khawar of the National Investigation Agency. “He has been indicted today and the charges have been read aloud,” he said. Khan is accused of leaking a confidential diplomatic telegram. Khan believes the telegram proves that the United States, with the support of Pakistan’s military, helped to overthrow him as prime minister last year. The case comes just months after a corruption conviction against Khan, in which he was sentenced to three years in prison for reselling gifts he received as prime minister. The sentence was later quashed. /ritzau/
