PM wants Royal Permission data investigated
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen says she wants to uncover the extent to which Royal Consent has been issued and used to marry underage girls with immigrant and descendant backgrounds, she said in PM’s Question Time. “It is quite appalling that some kind of approval has been issued by Denmark,” the prime minister said. Recently, Berlingske reported how Danish authorities issued Royal Consents from the 1980s to 2017. They allowed the marriage of 1,200 underage girls with immigrant and descendant backgrounds. /ritzau/
