Russian investigators confirmed Sunday that the leader of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, died in a plane crash. On Wednesday, a private plane carrying Prigozhin on the passenger list crashed in the Tver region of western Russia. Since then, a commission of inquiry has been investigating the crash, and on Sunday, investigators said the identities of the people who died in the crash match the passenger list on the plane. A statement from the commission on Telegram states that genetic tests enabled investigators to establish the identities of those killed. “Based on the results, the identities of all ten dead were established. They correspond to the list given in flight papers,” the commission said. However, no further details about the tests have been shared and the deaths have not been independently confirmed. /ritzau/
