Sea mine detonated off Langeland

A 130 kilogram deep-water sea mine has been fished up – and subsequently detonated – off the southern coast of Langeland, the Danish Defence wrote Sunday on X. The bomb was discovered when a fisherman caught it in his net about 3.2 kilometres from shore on Sunday morning. “At 7 a.m., the Armed Forces received a call, and from here the mission was to detonate the deep-water bomb,” says press officer at the Defence Command Aein Amripour. “Fishermen typically know what to do when they get ammunition in the net. They contact the authorities, and then the Navy’s Mine Service comes and takes a look,” he says. /ritzau/
