At least three people have died and three others are missing in Spain after heavy rain and storms that have caused major flooding, the Spanish authorities and media announced on Monday. The storm affected almost all of Spain. In the province of Toledo in central Spain, two people died. On Monday, police announced that a man had been found dead near a river in the same province. Spanish media reported that police found a man dead during a rescue operation near the town of Bargas. Another man died while rescue workers tried to reach him in the town of Casarrubios del Monte. It is unclear whether the storm is directly responsible for the two deaths. The heaviest rainfall was recorded on Sunday in the coastal regions of Cadiz, Tarragona and Castello, according to the state meteorological Aemet institute said. In several places, bridges have collapsed and cars have been swept away by the floodwaters. /ritzau/AFP/
