Trio behind “invoice factories” cheated the state
Several years of systematic production of false invoices by three different companies had noticeable consequences Monday for three men who were found guilty of tax evasion by the Copenhagen City Court, according to special prosecutor Susanne Bitsch. A 40-year-old man who was a director and later CFO of one of the companies was sentenced to two and a half years in prison. He must also pay an additional fine of DKK 11.8 million. His 54-year-old business partner, who was also a director for a period, was sentenced to two years in prison and fined DKK 11.2 million. Finally, a 45-year-old man who had a minor role in the case was sentenced to one year and three months in prison, nine months of which are suspended. He must also pay a fine. It amounts to DKK 3.7 million. The three men have been convicted of issuing invoices for goods and services that have never been sold. /ritzau/
