The Republican governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, has filled out the paperwork needed for him to run as a candidate in the Republican primary. The winner of the primary will be the Republican presidential candidate in the United States presidential elections next year. DeSantis officially announced his candidacy on the social media site Twitter in a live event. With his candidacy, DeSantis will have to battle against former Republican President Donald Trump.
