Ukraine has deployed long-range Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles provided by the United States, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy confirmed in his evening address Tuesday. “They have been very accurate, ATACMS have proved their worth,” Zelenskyy said. It is the first time Zelenskyy has confirmed that this type of missile has been used. He did not say exactly which targets were hit or when. Earlier on Tuesday, U.S. media reported that ATACMS had been used in attacks against some areas of Ukraine controlled by Russia. ATACMS are long-range missiles that enable Ukraine to hit targets up to 300 kilometres away. This will allow Ukrainian soldiers to hit railways, supply lines and other targets in areas of Ukraine controlled by Russia. The U.S. has not officially confirmed that the missiles have been sent to Ukraine. /ritzau/
