President Joe Biden has sharply criticised his predecessor and presumed opponent in the 2024 election, Donald Trump. “Something dangerous is afoot in the United States,” Biden said Thursday during a speech at the Tempe Center for the Arts in Arizona. After that, Biden began listing a series of threats that Republican Trump has recently made to U.S. officials. Among other things, Trump has apparently suggested that U.S. Defense Chief and Chief General Mark A. Milley deserves to be killed, and that the Justice Department should be dismantled. At the same time, Biden tried to clarify the difference between himself and Trump, who has stated that he feels above the Constitution that makes up the separation of powers in the United States. “I believe very strongly that the defining characteristic of our democracy is our constitution,” Biden said. “I believe in free and fair elections and a peaceful transfer of power.” /ritzau/Reuters
