Weapons cache costs two men 9 and 11 years in prison
Two men have been sentenced to 11 and 9 years in prison, respectively, in a case involving a large stockpile of weapons in Ballerup, according to Rasmus von Stamm, special prosecutor at the National Unit for Special Crime (NSK). The prosecutor added that he was very satisfied with Monday’s verdict. The cache was discovered when police raided an apartment in November 2021. 23-year-old Fatih Kaplan received 11 years in prison and 26-year-old Benjamin Khornsorn received 9 years in prison. The verdict was handed down by the Court in Glostrup on Monday, and both men were convicted of what they were charged with. According to von Stamm, both men have appealed their sentences to the High Court.
Among other things, the men kept six pistols, a revolver and a submachine gun in an apartment in Ballerup. Police also found a gas and signal revolver and a semi-automatic rifle. According to the indictment, various types of ammunition were also found in the apartment.
Two other men have already been convicted in the case. Dede Emre Harmanci, 27, confessed to his role in the case in early April, when he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. A 32-year-old man, Raza Ali Bashir, has also previously confessed to his role in the case. He was also sentenced to 10 years in prison. /ritzau/
