Swedes detained for embassy explosions

Two Swedish nationals, aged 16 and 19, have been placed in custody for 27 days after they were suspected of setting off hand grenades near the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen. Both individuals deny the allegations against them. Their detention was ordered due to serious suspicion and the potential risk of evading law enforcement or tampering with investigation if released. The two were arrested at Copenhagen Central Station and originate from Stockholm; both have no prior convictions. They face charges related to transporting five hand grenades and detonating two on a building’s rooftop terrace close to the embassy; nobody was harmed. The location of the remaining grenades was not disclosed, although police assured they are accounted for. The investigation continues to determine if the embassy was the intended target, with proceedings conducted behind closed doors to safeguard the investigative process and consider the possibility of unknown accomplices.
