Job centres are not the solution. But then what is?: Job centres are criticised for inefficiency and bureaucracy. The government’s platform states that it will “close the job centres, free the municipalities from state process requirements and prioritise initiatives that help unemployed people get closer to the labour market”. The obvious question is, what will politicians put in its place? And what will they do when controls are reduced, and the first examples of cheating appear in the public debate?
