Parties boycott questions to DF leader

Following Morten Messerschmidt’s speech, where he primarily targeted Lars Løkke Rasmussen of the Moderates, only four members of Parliament posed questions, none from the ruling parties. The government parties unanimously decided not to engage with Messerschmidt post-speech, finding no substance in his address. According to political spokespersons Christian Rabjerg Madsen (Social Democrats) and Jan E. Jørgensen (Venstre), their parties refused to debate with Messerschmidt after his remarks. Jørgensen criticized the speech as a ‘misuse of the parliamentary opening,’ while Monika Rubin of the Moderates compared Messerschmidt’s tactics to Trump’s, focusing on slandering opponents. Messerschmidt made an appeal to the conservative block to join the Danish People’s Party in keeping Rasmussen from influence post-election. Despite Rasmussen’s absence from the chamber, Messerschmidt mentioned his name repeatedly throughout his speech.
