Denmark’s green shift gets new directorates

Denmark plans extensive changes in its landscape in the upcoming decades to fulfill a green tripartite agreement, converting over 15% of agricultural land to forests and nature. Minister Jeppe Bruus of the Ministry for Green Tripartite announced the creation of two new bodies to facilitate this task: the Agency for Green Areal Transformation and Aquatic Environment, and the restructured Nature Agency from the Ministry of Environment. About 150-160 employees will form the ministry’s department, mostly transferred from other ministries. Bruus expressed satisfaction with the fast pace of reorganization, critical for commencing the substantial work ahead.
