Astronaut Andreas Mogensen returns to Earth

Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen has successfully undocked from the International Space Station at 16:21 Danish time alongside ‘Crew 7,’ and is now en route to Earth. NASA reports that the decoupling proceeded as planned. Astronaut Jasmin Moghbeli left peanut butter and pancakes for the new ISS team as a parting gift. The crew anticipates an 18-hour journey home, aiming to land in the ocean near Florida early on Tuesday, weather permitting. Dual braking parachutes followed by four main parachutes will ensure a safe touchdown at about 25 km/h. Mogensen, who undertook ten experiments aboard the ISS, including studies with a high-speed camera and a 3D metal printer, expressed mixed feelings about his departure and excitement to see his family again.
