Astronaut delivers space-flown flag to university

Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen has handed over a flag that traveled with him to the ISS to Kristine Kilså of Aarhus University. The flag was part of his six-month Huginn mission starting August 2023, even accompanying him on his 47th birthday in space. Over 200 university students engaged with Mogensen during his visit. The flag will be exhibited at the Steno Museum in Aarhus to promote astronomy and space research. Mogensen also took Niels Bohr’s Nobel medal to space, which was later returned to Frederiksborg Museum. During Huginn, Mogensen conducted scientific experiments, including filming storms and testing a 3D metal printer and VR equipment for space use. This was his second ISS mission after a brief 2015 visit.
