Government proposes cutting integration funds again

The Danish Government’s 2025 financial proposal suggests a cut of 27.9 million kroner in funding for state integration efforts. The same initiatives had faced a similar cut in the spring, which was canceled after opposition pressure. Integration Minister Kaare Dybvad Bek referenced a 2021 political agreement for consecutive four-year cuts but managed to find alternative solutions for 2022, 2023, and 2024. There is no final decision for handling the 2025 cuts yet. The proposed reductions have been criticized as they potentially affect organizations like DRC Danish Refugee Council and were called into question by The Radicals and The Alternative Party.
