Man faces trial for reckless driving

A 24-year-old is charged with negligent homicide after a fatal crash on the Hillerød motorway extension, which killed a couple and another man. The man allegedly street raced with the deceased 33-year-old, resulting in the other driver losing control and colliding head-on with another vehicle, which had a family onboard, killing the parents and seriously injuring two children. The accused was speeding at 172 km/h in a 70 km/h zone just before the crash. Though initially the court did not find strong suspicion, the prosecution insists on his role in the deadly outcome. The speed limit on the road where the crash took place has been reduced to 80 km/h due to several serious accidents in recent years. The 24-year-old’s trial is yet to be scheduled at the Hillerød Court.
