Denmark proposes EU Green Investment Guarantee
Danish Industry Minister Morten Bødskov proposes an EU guarantee facility to boost Europe’s global competitiveness by investing in green technology and AI. In Brussels, he presents the idea as part of Denmark’s response to the Draghi-report, which outlines Europe’s challenges in new tech investments, noting the US and China’s significant advances with less red tape. This EU-backed facility would reduce private investors’ risk in green infrastructure by partially shielding them through the EU budget. Echoing Denmark’s successful model with its Export and Investment Fund, Bødskov believes this move will attract necessary private capital. However, the funding details for the facility have yet to be determined.
