Moderates offer exit deals with gag order
Following complaints to the Labor Inspectorate by current and former employees about the work environment within the Moderate Party, employees have been offered a severance package with an included confidentiality clause. They have until Thursday to sign if they wish. This decision comes after a nine-hour crisis meeting held two weeks ago. The employee union Djøf has negotiated the terms. According to the party, such confidentiality is standard practice. The complaints involved issues such as bullying and sexism. As a result of the controversy, party co-founder Lars Løkke Rasmussen proposed professional psychological support and a whistleblower scheme, but disagreements led to Jeppe Søe leaving the party. Employees have remained silent while seeking support from Djøf. The reported comments included sexist remarks and demeaning attitudes towards female employees. Newly-appointed digitalization minister Caroline Stage Olsen has apologized for her part in the poor work environment.
