Vinterberg’s series debuts at Venice festival

Thomas Vinterberg’s first TV series ‘Familier som vores’ (‘Families Like Ours’) is selected for the official program of the Venice Film Festival. The series will premiere globally with all seven episodes shown out of competition, marking Vinterberg’s first time at the Venice Festival and his debut in TV series production. Earlier, Vinterberg received acclaim for his Oscar-winning film ‘Druk’ (‘Another Round’). For the third consecutive year, Zentropa is featured at the festival. The show’s producers are elated for the series to have its world premiere in Venice. ‘Families Like Ours’ depicts a Danish family forced to flee due to rising seas. It stars actors like Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Esben Smed. The festival runs from August 28 to September 7, with the series to air on Danish TV later in the autumn.
