Driver in fatal crash suspected of nitrous oxide use

A man was on nitrous oxide driving at 114 km/h in a deadly accident in Tranbjerg near Aarhus, according to police. The crash killed three seniors and critically injured two others, all returning from folk dancing. The 35-year-old driver, who hit an oncoming car during an overtake, was in a stolen Audi A6 without a license. He fled the scene but was caught within an hour. Nitrous oxide cartridges found in the car supported the impairment charge. Unable to appear in court due to injuries, he was detained for nearly four weeks and claimed he was just a passenger. A further court date is pending his recovery.
