Denmark and Sweden to extradite more gang Lleaders

Danish Justice Minister Peter Hummelgaard and his Swedish counterpart, Gunnar Strömmer, agreed to a joint declaration to combat gang violence, which has recently involved Swedish youths hired as mercenaries by Danish gangs. They aim to strengthen cooperation with countries where gang leaders hide and ensure their extradition for accountability. The countries were not named, but regions like northern Iraq and Syria are challenging for authorities due to unrest. Efforts include monitoring the most wanted individuals abroad and preventing recruitment through social platforms. Sweden, taking serious note of the developments on social media, plans to emulate Denmark’s strict anti-gang measures. Following violent incidents involving Swedes, Denmark has increased police presence and surveillance on the Øresund trains and border control with Sweden. Hummelgaard highlighted 25 incidents since April of Danish gangs hiring young Swedes for crimes.
