Record September sales for electric cars

Denmark experienced a record high in electric vehicle (EV) registrations in September, with over 8,901 new EVs hitting the roads, accounting for 57% of total car sales that month. This surge is partly due to favorable taxation rules and a wider range of electric models, according to Mads Rørvig, CEO of Mobility Denmark. Throughout the third quarter, EV sales exceeded 50% each month, a first for Denmark. With around 50% growth compared to the same period last year, the total number of EVs sold in Q3 reached 21,882. Additionally, the number of public charging points has increased by over 11,000 in the past year, totaling 25,598 by the end of August. Brian Friis Helmer from Arbejdernes Landsbank highlighted the rapid market growth, noting more than one in ten cars is now electric, and anticipates the upcoming milestone of 300,000 EVs on Danish roads.
