Denmark boosts Ukraine with more F-16s

Denmark is set to deliver additional F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine in 2024’s second half, said Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen during his visit to Ukraine. Specific numbers and dates weren’t disclosed for security reasons. Previously, Denmark promised six jets in an initial batch and committed to a total of 19 F-16s. During his visit, Poulsen met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj, who acknowledged the first delivery. Denmark also fulfilled a ‘first milestone’ by providing 18 Bohdana artillery pieces, which were quickly integrated into the Ukrainian army. Furthermore, Denmark has invested 1.3 billion crowns into Ukraine’s defense industry and is tasked with managing nearly three billion crowns of frozen Russian assets for the same purpose.
