Denmark prepares home emergency plans

The Danish Emergency Management Agency is working with other authorities to enhance citizens’ emergency preparedness in case of war or crisis. The focus is on what individuals can do if such incidents occur, but the final products of this effort, be it a brochure or online campaign, are yet to be determined. Johan Zilmer-Bülow, Head of Emergency Planning and Crisis Management, emphasizes that this initiative is a matter of timely prudence, not a signal for increased worry. In 2018, Sweden issued a brochure on readiness for crisis or war, advising stockpiling food and water. The effort in Denmark involves multiple agencies, including cybersecurity and health. Despite previous government hesitation, the intelligence service highlighted the serious threat environment, stressing Russia’s espionage against Danish infrastructure and sabotage plans.
