Agedrup school principal resigns

Christian Gantzhorn Hovendal, the principal of Agedrup School, resigns immediately after a critical report. The Children and Youth Administration in Odense Municipality announces this in an email to Ritzau. Following a mutual agreement, Hovendal’s last working day will be Friday, with a search for a new principal commencing promptly. Reasons for the resignation are not disclosed. A Deloitte investigation last week found that half of the school staff felt unsafe involving the school management when needed. The Children and Youth Committee ordered this investigation in March after approximately 100 parents reported unsafe incidents involving students. Deloitte also identified organizational fear of failure and difficulty in staff dialogue with the management. Despite the concerns, the administration expressed continued trust in the leadership, and stressed implementation of the report’s recommendations for a closer connection to daily operations.
